RDA Holidays

An RDA HolidayEach year RDA holds holidays for disabled people who have a passion for horses and are a member of one of our Groups. The Holidays are a vital part of RDA's work and are sometimes the only break riders and drivers have away from their normal domestic situation. In the same way, holidays can also work as a break for families and carers.

Riders and drivers benefit immensely from a holiday with like minded people. They often demonstrate improved social skills and benefit from the intense riding programme, many taking part in activities they may have never done in their normal group environment. This in turn increases their confidence and activities like grooming and cleaning tack help dexterity and co-ordination.

The Holidays take place all over the country between May and September. Some offer the opportunity to look after a pony for a week, others offer riding or driving in conjunction with visits to places of interest and other outdoor pursuits. All of them provide a memorable time, whether a long weekend or a full week. All holidays are run by volunteers.

RDA are always looking for suitable venues to hold holidays. If you think you know of a suitable place then please
contact us.

Unfortunately our holidays are only open to RDA Group members. For non RDA riders interested in holidays please contact the
Royal Association for Disability and Rehabilitation (RADAR).
