About RDA
Who We Are

 

RDA is a community of: 
  • Participants – our riders, carriage drivers and vaulters
  • Volunteers – working both for Groups and RDA National – this includes helpers, coaches, physiotherapists and Member Group Trustees
  • Friends – individuals who actively engage with, communicate with and support RDA
  • Supporters – individuals and organisations who provide financial support
 
RDA National works to support Member Groups and their volunteers, while always recognising that any development, activity or support must benefit the participants. RDA National includes volunteers at County, Regional and National level, working alongside staff at National office.
 
RDA was registered with the Charity Commission in October 1969 (registered charity number 244108) and became a company limited by guarantee (company number 5010395) on 8 January 2004.  In October 2008, RDA was registered as a charity in Scotland under the new Charities Act – (Number SC039473)
 
RDA is a federation of almost 500 Member Groups, which are governed by a Membership Agreement with the national body (RDA National), the RDA Membership Manual and a Standard Group Constitution. The national body is divided into 18 Regions and each Region is divided into Counties. Support, advice and training for the Member Groups is delivered through the Regional and County structure.
The Member Groups are all separately registered charities
